Golf Intelligence Console & API

Terms of Use

Effective August 14, 2026  ·  Last updated August 14, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Golf Intelligence developer console, authentication tokens, APIs, documentation, and golf course, GPS, green, elevation, imagery, and related data (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Golf Intelligence (“we,” “us,” “our”) and is powered by StrackaGolf data. By creating an account, generating a token, calling the API, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the company or product you represent (“you”).

If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The license we grant

Subject to these Terms and your paid or evaluation plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to call the API and use returned data only for Normal Use in a product you operate.

Normal Use

Normal Use” means using the API from your licensed application or backend so that your end users can play, score, navigate, simulate, or otherwise experience golf inside that application. Typical Normal Use includes in-app GPS distances, digital hole maps, green slope or elevation displays, scorecards, and simulator or AR/VR play surfaces shown to a golfer during a round or session.

The Service is designed for a live connection to users. You pull a course when a golfer (or your licensed app acting for that golfer) actually needs it. You do not pre-load the catalog.

Normal Use is limited to the volume, rate, courses, and features covered by your credits, plan, or written agreement with us. Search and other free calls remain subject to these Terms.

Device cache (up to one year)

You may cache data for a specific course on an end-user device for up to one (1) year after that course was fetched for Normal Use (for example, so a golfer can play that course offline). You may also keep a short-lived working copy on your app servers only as needed to serve that same live user request.

We may provide a webhook (or similar notice) when an update is available for a course you have cached. If we notify you of an update, you must refresh or invalidate that course cache within a reasonable time and must not keep serving the stale copy as current.

Device cache is not a license to download the catalog, host a local copy of “every course,” or stand up your own golf-data store.

You do not receive ownership of any data, maps, imagery, coordinates, elevation, slope, geohash, scorecard, or other content returned by the Service. All of that remains ours or our licensors’ (including StrackaGolf / StrackaLine).

2. AI, bots, scraping, and bulk extraction — not allowed

Hard rule

You may not use the Service to scrape, harvest, crawl, mirror, bulk-download, or otherwise extract Golf Intelligence or StrackaGolf data outside of Normal Use. That ban applies to humans, scripts, crawlers, agents, and any AI system.

Without limiting the above, the following are prohibited unless we have given you a signed written exception:

  • Using a bot, spider, crawler, scraper, headless browser, agent, or similar automated tool to pull data except for the ordinary server-to-server calls your licensed app makes for Normal Use.
  • Using the API, console, or any output as a source for an AI model, LLM, foundation model, chatbot, copilot, or autonomous agent — including training, fine-tuning, evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector indexes, or prompt caches.
  • Building or operating an AI product whose purpose is to answer questions about, reconstruct, or redistribute our course, green, GPS, elevation, or pin data.
  • An A–Z (or otherwise systematic) download of every course, or of a material portion of the catalog, to host, mirror, or warehouse locally on your servers, in a CDN, or in any datastore you control. The API is not a dump. You may not build a local copy of the course library.
  • Systematic or bulk collection (for example, walking course IDs, paging search to assemble a catalog, prefetching courses no user has requested, or downloading greens, geohashes, or GPS layers “just in case”).
  • Building a competing dataset, warehouse, or API from our output, or keeping a server-side library of courses beyond the short-lived working copy and one-year per-course device cache described above.
  • Circumventing credits, rate limits, tokens, geoblocks, or authentication, or sharing tokens with a third party (including an AI vendor) so they can call the API.
  • Using another customer’s token, creating accounts by automation, or accessing the Service after we disable your account.

Your licensed app may make automated API calls on behalf of a golfer who is actually using that app. That is Normal Use. Pointing an AI bot, research agent, or data-collection pipeline at the API is not.

Hard rule — no A–Z local host

You may not download the course catalog A–Z (or otherwise in bulk) and host it on your side. Live user connection plus an optional one-year per-course device cache is the model. A local copy of every course is not.

3. Printed yardage books and pin sheets — not allowed

Hard rule

You may not use the Service, or any data obtained from it, to create, publish, print, sell, give away, or distribute any printed or print-ready material that competes with StrackaLine / StrackaGolf yardage books or pin sheets.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Yardage books, green books, caddie books, hole-by-hole guides, and tournament or pro-am books.
  • Pin sheets, hole-location sheets, daily pin sheets, and any printed green map that shows pin position, slope, or elevation for play or caddie use.
  • PDFs, print-on-demand files, or other print-ready layouts meant to be printed or photocopied for golfers, caddies, clubs, or events.
  • Doing any of the above under your brand, a white-label brand, or a third party’s brand, whether sold, bundled, or free.

Showing digital maps, slope, or elevation on a screen inside your licensed app during play is Normal Use. Turning that same data into a competing printed book or pin sheet is not. If you want printed yardage books or pin sheets, that product is StrackaLine’s. Ask us; do not build it from the API.

4. Other prohibited uses

You also may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or republish raw API output, or offer a competing golf-data API or feed.
  • Remove or alter proprietary notices, watermarks, or attribution.
  • Use the Service in a way that harms the integrity, security, or availability of the API or other customers.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a product that violates course, club, or tour rules you are subject to.
  • Suggest that Golf Intelligence, StrackaGolf, or StrackaLine endorses your product unless we say so in writing.

5. Accounts, tokens, and credits

You are responsible for every call made with your console account or token. Keep credentials secret. Credits, rate limits, and plan features are as shown in the console or your order. Unused evaluation credits do not create a right to keep pulling data. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke access if we reasonably believe these Terms are being broken, including AI scraping or print-product use.

6. Ownership

The Service, documentation, and all golf course, GPS, green, slope, elevation, imagery, and related data are owned by Golf Intelligence or its licensors (including StrackaGolf / StrackaLine) and are protected by copyright, trade secret, and other laws. Except for the Normal Use license above, no rights are granted, whether by implication or estoppel. Feedback you send us may be used freely to improve the Service.

7. Your product and end users

You are solely responsible for your application, your end users, and any privacy or consumer notices they need. You will not pass our data to a third party except as required for Normal Use inside your app (for example, rendering a map to the golfer who requested that hole). You will not pass our data to an AI provider, data broker, or print vendor.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these Terms, if your use looks like scraping or a competing print product, or if needed to protect the Service. On termination you must stop calling the API and delete stored data except records you are legally required to keep. Sections that by nature should survive (including 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, and 10) do survive.

9. Disclaimer and liability

THE SERVICE AND DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS.” We do not warrant that course, GPS, green, or pin data is complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose. Yardages, slopes, and elevations are aids, not a substitute for the golfer’s own judgment. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for an amount above the fees you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; those limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.

10. Equitable relief

Unauthorized scraping, AI extraction, or competing printed yardage books or pin sheets would cause harm that money may not fix. We may seek injunctive or other equitable relief, in addition to any other remedy, without posting a bond beyond what a court requires.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version in the console or at golfintelligence.com/terms-of-use. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you cannot accept a change, stop using the Service.

12. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in San Diego County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, except we may seek injunctive relief anywhere. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms, plus any signed order or data license we issue you, are the entire agreement for the Service. A signed enterprise or direct-feed agreement controls if it conflicts with these Terms. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization or sale.
